We produced “Mars” – the second single and album title track for English-Kenyan Soul talent Eli Cripps. Shot in the regal surroundings of Victoria Baths that is decorated to look like a grand house, this personal melancholy balled explores the painful differences in the male and female species as well as exploring her own frustrations in inter-gender relationships.
Notes for the Archive
"So many lessons learnt that day - Understanding when you have bootstap productions, still try and squeeze the budget to get runners! I was so focused on getting the equipment and shooting on the day, I totally misjudged setup times, trying to set up on my own, which took out the 1/3 o the day - I remember the guys from Procam dropping off the kit asking me where the crew was and him looking perplexed when I replied I was doing it on my own. Also shooting a bath scene with no constant running hot water on tap wasn't the best idea. The wonderful staff at Victoria Baths got us a couple litres of hot water from their staff kitchen to do the bath scene, only for it to get old after 10 mins, but Eli was a great sport and soldiered on to get the shots we needed. The video still turned out memorable and still proud of the work done" - Mr. Kenzo
